sensitive new age guy? snag?

Today in The Star there are a few articles dedicated for Pretty Boy or SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy). Those few articles are Day of the Clean Man, Men and Skincare, What women want, Do real men wear make up? and Make up for men.

Truth is, I agree with most of the things said in the articles. Men these days do not wash their face with just soap and water anymore. There’s a whole range of facial products and stuffs. Some guys even pluck their eyebrows, had manicure, spa and etc. But the line has to be drawn somewhere.

In the “Do real men wear make up?” and “Make up for men” articles, it actually teaches guys how to put on MAKE UP. They even have lip balm (or something like that), eye liner (EYE LINER!!!), “complexion illuminator” and a “fortifying nail-smoothing highlighter”. Imagine finding all these inside a man’s HANDBAG. Heck, imagine a guy carrying a HANDBAG.

Everyone wants to look good. Facial products are acceptable. It’s just like shampoo for your hair; soap for your body so there’s nothing wrong in getting something for your face. Getting your eyebrow plucked is fine too; it’s just like cutting your hair and the same goes to having a manicure. You just want to keep it nice and clean instead of biting your nails with your teeth.

But putting on make up is seriously way too much. If you have oily skin, then wash it regularly and it’ll look just fine. If you have flaky skin, wash it with moisturizer or anything. If you have dry lips then drink more water. You don’t need to carry a lip balm. You don’t need to go to the washroom to powder your nose like women do.

I really think the whole metrosexual thing is going overboard now. Women want guys who look neat and tidy, but not someone who takes longer to get ready for a night out than women. And what’s with the Sensitive New Age Guy (SNAG) thing? Just because he is metrosexual, does that make him a sensitive man? It’s like saying all beautiful women are nice. Women couldn’t care less if a guy have good complexion, attitude is what that counts.

And I’m going to say something that most women are going to disagree with me but between sensitive and attitude, women are more attracted to man with attitude than sensitive man. Consciously, women will not agree with me but subconsciously, that’s what been happening in the world. Women SAY they want a sensitive guy (women above 35, yes) but they are attracted to guy with attitude instead. Guys with attitude can be sensitive but sensitive guys are hardly with any (useful) attitude if at all.

But I do want to make a generalization here, my personal generalization. All pretty boys who have this really clean cut look are actually not really man. I mean those with REALLY good skin complexion, perfect eyebrows, shinny lips and everything. They look gay seriously. Pretty boys look gay.

You don’t want to be a boy; you want to be a man. And a man does not wear make up or eyeliner or powder his nose. A man does not need perfect complexion (Loreal Sheer Cashmere *laugh*). Healthy and clean skin is more than enough; you do not have to close up the pores or shit like that. A man without scars is not a man.
