The first 2 contestants got a comment from Roslan that they sing English like some Javanese. And b4 they went to commercials, Jien said “we are off to a great start”. I understand that Jien is trying to zest things up but u can’t say it’s a great start when 2 contestants sang like someone from the Kepulauan Jawa.

Like I said earlier in me previous post. Pronunciation is important. No matter how good ur voice is, if u can’t pronounce it properly, they whole song will just suck.

Jee, she just can’t stop complaining/criticizing about the contestants’ outfits. Come on Jee, stop it already. Comment them for their singing for a change for crying out loud.

So far, none of the contestants actually rebutted the negative comments from the judges. The best they can do is “this is who I am”. Please hv a backbone and stand for urself. They r just too scared or just too nice. Either way, it’s not good.

There’s hardly any connections among the judges. The only way Roslan is relating to Jee is by using the line “apa pendapat jee?” And it had been a standard line for Roslan too. And I don’t think Paul understands everything said by Roslan and Jee. He is practically doing his comments independently.

Hairil, the 3rd contestant – he sang badly. No doubt about it. He was too soft, no power at all. It’s like he had asthma. Roslan and Jee agreed with me tat he did sing badly. And this is the joke. Paul actually said he sing really well. I know what Paul was actually doing, he is just trying to stir up some controversy but it was damn obvious tat he did it on purpose. U should hv seen the look on Jee’s face. She was stunned!!

Aifa – she sang in Bahasa Malaysia BAKU. And she speaks in BAKU too. And I’m gonna be a jackass here and make a pre-mature assumption that she is not going to be able to sing in English properly.

Andrew – he can sing, infact I kinda like his voice. But he has got some serious image issue. He should cut off his lock and get some funky hairdo. Do something like Vick or whatever, just lose the long hair.

Anis – she claimed she used to sing backup for Siti Nurhaliza. Personally, it actually hurts me literally to hear her sing. The best thing about her is when she stopped singing. And Paul did get it right; she does dress like an aunty. I know she’s a mother, but if u r going to be an idol, then stop dressing like an aunty. Ironically, Jee din say anything about her outfit.

Rinie – got a good voice, and she did sing nicely. But she kinda screwed up a bit in the middle during a high note. Personally, she is good. And Jee, please stop with the whole outfit criticizing thing.

Victor – he wanted to sing in Chinese coz he said he has always sung in Chinese. And if he did sing in Chinese, it would be damn weird. He made a mistake, he sang the wrong song. He sang Belaian Jiwa and to me tat was a bad move. First, the song is oversell. Second, his pronunciation is bad. My take on this is tat, he’s trying to cash in on a popular song tat all races are familiar with. But it all screwed up when he can’t pronounce “sampai” properly and he can’t keep a high note.

Rydee – I kinda like her. She can sing, nice voice and all. But she “Heeeeeeeeeeee” too much. I mean those high octave note or whatever. Kinda like her lips too. Pouty and shiny.

Aisha – One word. Bloody damn vain. Ok, 3 words. She’s not tat pretty but she is vain. Too beauty-conscious. Low self-esteem perhaps? And frankly, while I was writing this, I couldn’t even remember wat she sung. There was no impression of her at all. It was nothing.

Fazly – he sung like Awie. Infact, he would hv given Awie a run for his money. If he was to enter a contest looking for a Awie clone, he would hv won it hands down. But definitely not an idol material. U just don’t see Awie being Malaysian Idol rite? 

Me placed me votes on Andrew, Rinie, Rydee and Victor (dark horse).

Okie, now tat I am finished. I am gonna go listen to Kurt Nilsen singing Beautilful Day on World Idol. After listening to all this contestants sing, Kurt Nilsen’s the only reason why I am still watching Malaysian Idol. It gives hope to know that perhaps and I say perhaps one day we might find someone like Kurt Nilsen.

*for those who never heard of Kurt Nilsen, he’s the winner of the first World Idol beating Kelly Clarkson. He is not good looking and he looks like a hobbit. Father of 2. A plumber. And did I say he’s not good looking? But he has a voice of an angel!!!
